Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The Health and Care Professions Council currently regulates fifteen allied health professions in the UK, all of which practise both within the NHS and private sectors. All have at least one that is protected by law. This means, for example, that anyone using the title ‘Dramatherapist’ must be registered with the HPC and adhere to itsstandards of proficiency, conduct, performance and ethics. Members of the public can access the HPC’s up-to-date practitioner register online.

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)

IFS is currently the fastest growing model of psychotherapy in the United States. The model sees the human mind, not as a single entity, but as an internal system of autonomous personalities or parts. The IFS approach offers a clear and empowering method of understanding human issues: it sets out to support the individual to restore trust in the Self as leader of their internal system and bring empathy and harmony to the system as a whole.
